Job Title: Technician Blood Bank

The primary responsibility of a Technician Blood Bank is to oversee the collection, storage, and distribution of blood.

  • Blood Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of blood collection, storage, and distribution. This includes ensuring that blood products are properly labeled, stored, and transported.
  • Quality Assurance: In this role, you will ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the blood bank. This involves implementing procedures to prevent contamination and ensuring that equipment is regularly maintained.
  • Testing and Cross Matching: As a Technician Blood Bank, you will conduct blood tests and cross matching procedures to determine compatibility between donors and recipients.
  • Maintenance and Record Keeping: Regular maintenance of blood bank equipment and accurate record keeping are essential functions of this position. You will also be responsible for maintaining records of blood donations, transfusions, and any adverse reactions.

Requirements:

  • Education: A degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in a blood bank or related setting.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Possession of relevant certifications and licenses (e.g., MLT, CLS).
