About the Role

This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the student experience by guiding learners through their educational journey.

Candidates must possess industry experience, demonstrated knowledge of the course subject area, and strong interpersonal skills. This is a full-time, remote position.

The successful candidate will provide assistance and aid learners enrolled in programs within machine learning, AI, data engineering, data science, and data analytics. They will have proven experience as a data engineer and/or data scientist, excellent time management skills, and a desire to work in a fast-paced educational tech environment.

  • Respond to student inquiries via the learning management system and learner support software within 24 hours or less
  • Guide students through complex assignments and questions using industry knowledge and compassion
  • Provide prompt feedback that includes pointed questions to help students build problem-solving skills
  • Work with students with varying levels of experience and expertise
  • Suggest course improvements to assigned Program Delivery Manager and Designer to enhance content clarity and effectiveness
  • Communicate and collaborate with the team to solve unexpected course challenges
Key Responsibilities

The Learning Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert guidance and support to learners
  • Developing and delivering high-quality educational content
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business results
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of extensive work experience in data engineering, data science, or data analytics
  • Professional and/or academic experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and GitHub
  • Experience using data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau)
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure
  • Advanced academic background in mathematics, particularly statistics, calculus, and linear algebra
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to listen effectively and maintain a mutual comfort level while working with diverse students
  • Experience using Canvas or other related learning management systems
