Job Title: Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer

This role is designed for a seasoned expert in computational fluid dynamics modeling who can support contract execution and product development efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of low NOx burners, overfire air, and furnace systems, as well as SCR and SO2 scrubber systems.

The successful individual will work closely with project teams to develop proposals, interact with clients, and execute contract and project analysis and reporting. They will also provide support for sales, proposals, and marketing efforts to promote and increase sales of CFD modeling capability.

We are looking for a highly skilled professional who can manage and develop standard modeling practices for common equipment, ensuring high accuracy while being cost- and schedule-efficient. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing proposed development projects in the area of modeling and analysis to support the company's core business strategy and objectives;
  • Performing CFD modeling and analysis using ANSYS CFD software;
  • Working knowledge of low NOx burners and other environmental emissions control equipment;
  • Proficiency in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, chemical reactions, and combustion;
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, including project timelines and progress.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants should possess:

  • A Ph.D. or M.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a focus on fluid flow and thermal analysis;
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with experience in the power generation industry;
  • A foundation in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, chemical reactions, and combustion;
  • Three to five years of experience in CFD modeling, preferably applied to industrial problems;
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
