The role of Hitachi Storage Specialist involves managing day-to-day administration for SAN and storage environments.
Key responsibilities include tracking existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth, maintaining systems-level maintenance for storage infrastructure, and providing Storage Area Network Configuration and Administration.
- Candidate must have hands-on experience with storage pool creation, expansion, and deletion, as well as zoning via CISCO SAN Switches using both CLI and GUI interfaces.
- Experience with storage replication technologies, monitoring tools like OPS Center Analyser and Hi-Track, and troubleshooting skills are essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing infrastructure events, performing capacity analysis, and coordinating with Hitachi Global Support for incident resolution.
Mentoring and training junior admins, overseeing the design, installation, configuration, and de-provision of storage solutions, and performance management for SAN and storage are also key aspects of this role.
A strong understanding of data protection and backup processes is crucial, including disaster recovery plans and procedures.
