Data Governance Lead

The role of a Data Governance Lead is pivotal in establishing and maintaining an Enterprise Data Governance program.

This position involves building and supporting tools and technology required for data governance, enabling business users to search and understand information through standard business glossaries and data dictionaries.

  • Key responsibilities include implementing data cataloging with a data governance tool, establishing clear data ownership, and managing access control.
  • A successful candidate will also develop custom integrations between the data governance tool and various data stores to map and view data lineage.
  • In addition, they will support the enterprise in migrating from existing data sources to a data governance tool and implement a workflow management system to optimize and automate data governance workflows.
  • The Data Governance Lead will also be responsible for tracking, investigating, and correcting data quality issues in a data governance tool and setting up data quality rules for data validation and standardization.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, one must have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience utilizing tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. to implement data governance programs.

Candidates should also possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as proven ability to work with business stakeholders and leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges.

Familiarity with data governance practices, business, and technology issues related to the management of enterprise information assets, as well as approaches related to data protection, is essential.

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience utilizing tools like #Collibra, #Informatica, #Alation, etc to implement Data governance programs
  • 5+ years of experience in data management space under any area
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies.
