Job Overview

The Smiths Detection Global finance team is seeking a highly skilled Key Finance Specialist to join their Shared Services Centre in India. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting and dynamic moment in the team's maturity, providing various financial supporting services to different sections of the Global finance team.

Job Description:

This Key Finance Specialist will play a key role in delivering financial supporting services, including accounts payable, accounting, reporting & controls, and other financial services. The individual will be responsible for providing hands-on support in the Accounts Payable Area, working closely with market finance teams and the AP team to ensure a smooth and accurate invoice process across Smiths Detection.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Reconciling GRIR accounts to ensure accurate matching of goods and invoice receipts, resolving discrepancies with procurement and accounts payable teams.
  • Reviewing invoices to ensure accurate processing, timely payments, and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Validating Onyx reports for treasury and cash management, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
  • Reviewing vendor reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of payments, credits, and balances, promptly resolving any discrepancies.
  • Reviewing accruals to ensure accurate recording of expenses and revenues, maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintaining intercompany transactions and corrections, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies in coordination with global teams.
  • Recording and posting GST invoices, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and minimizing filing risks.

Data Analysis and Reporting

This Key Finance Specialist will also be responsible for:
  • Compiling and analyzing Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data to track progress, support strategic decisions, and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Publishing daily/weekly reports on email and ensuring timely responses.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum 05 years' experience in accounts payable or a related field.
  • Experience from a Shared Service Centre environment is highly advantageous.
  • Able to communicate clearly in fluent spoken and written English.
  • Strong SAP skills, including purchase orders and expense processing.
  • Experience of invoice processing in a multiple currency environment.
  • Strong Excel skills and Microsoft office programmes.
