Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to oversee and coordinate the testing process for electrical equipment. This involves ensuring that all tests are conducted in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for participating in Toolbox Talks, understanding daily tasks and special requirements for orders planned for the day. Daily supervision is required to ensure compliance with WIS (Work Instruction Sheet) and HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) guidelines during FRT (Factory Routine Test) and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test).

Additionally, the supervisor will need to ensure compliance to PTW (Permit To Work) for switching ON power supply trolley. It is essential to actively intervene to Identify Unsafe Act and Unsafe Conditions during testing.

Maintenance and upgradation of testing equipment will also be a key responsibility. The supervisor will need to ensure that all trolleys and equipment used in the testing area are in good working condition.

Ensuring compliance to EHS points on shopfloor as per guidelines and supporting technicians with technical queries are also crucial aspects of this role.

A sound knowledge of IEC and IS of routine testing of MV switchgear panels is necessary for success in this position.

Participation in Internal and external EHS and other audits will also be required.

In addition to these responsibilities, the supervisor will provide Product and Process training to testing engineers and maintain records of process documents like PTW, UA/UC, calibration and maintenance of test trolleys.

The ideal candidate should have excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills to communicate technical information effectively.

A degree in Electrical Engineering with 6-8 years of experience or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 8-10 years of experience in MV panel testing of AIS switchgear products is preferred.

Exposure to field services or commissioning activities at sites will be an added advantage.

  • Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) competency
  • Good understanding of EHS guidelines to be followed during electrical/mechanical testing
