Senior Automation Engineer

Mercer Business seeks candidates for a senior position in our Mumbai office. As a key member of an Agile delivery team, you will be responsible for developing features/enhancements to our strategic product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and identify scenarios for Automated and Manual testing.
• Bring experience on testing AI/Gen AI business applications.
• Demonstrate usage of Gen AI in tooling & AI driven insights reporting.
• Creating/Reusing AI utilities/components for Testing.
• Design Automation test scripts ensuring proper coverage of regression.
• Understanding API test resources, requirements and scripting.
• Setup an Automation test framework.
• Execution and maintenance of test scripts (Manual and Automated) and reporting results.
• Investigate technical problems, needs and determine possible solutions.
• Document test results, defect logs and issue logs wherever possible.
• Participate in development of technical documentation where possible.
• Status reporting to the Delivery Lead and Reporting Manager.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders of the project delivery team.
• Work with Test Leads to improve ROI of overall automated and functional tests.
• Own MercerTech initiatives along with Quality Engineering Leads.
• Drive Agile Continuous improvement initiatives with Delivery Leads.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in the IT industry.
• Demonstrable experience of working on successful test programs on enterprise scale applications or projects.
• Experience of working in scrum teams within SAFe delivery framework preferred.
• Experience in applying Generative AI capabilities for BAU work effectiveness, practical use cases.
• Experience of working in Agile POD, Squad model and In-Sprint Automation.
• Demonstrable experience of working in Programs on enterprise scale applications or projects.

Technical Skills Required:

• Exposure to GenAI utilities - Copilot or equivalent plugin / tooling.
• Proficiency in UI and API test automation.
• Specific experience with the following: Proficient in the following Test automation languages and frameworks; Typescript, JavaScript, Selenium, Playwright, WebDriverIO and TestNG, Cypress.
• API test automation with Playwright, RestAssured or PactumJS.
• Experience of Jmeter and LoadRunner for Performance testing a plus.
• Experience of using AzureDevOps for End-to-End Test delivery.
• Repository, CI/CD Pipeline management experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
