Vogt Power International (VPI) specializes in the design manufacture supply of equipment solutions to the power generation industry based in Louisville KY.

VPI is an industry leader in heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) with domestic international customers.

Structural Engineer Role: The Structural Engineer works as part of a multi-discipline project team to develop structural designs for HRSG projects. This role is responsible for collaborating with other disciplines to create custom structural designs for new large capital projects field retrofits. The Structural Engineer's responsibilities include design developments improvements to enhance the overall effectiveness of the product.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering analyses using hand calculations spreadsheet programs advanced analysis tools.
  • Work directly with the Design group to create accurate efficient structural drawing packages.
  • Identify/develop tools techniques that improve accuracy efficiency of Department project work.
  • Develop designs that increase ease of fabrication transportation construction of our product.
  • Provide recommendations promote development of new products keeping abreast of industry advancements needs.
Education: Bachelor of Engineering in Structural or Civil Engineering.

Requirements:
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously respond quickly to problems.
  • Comfortable using structural analysis software such as Autodesk's Robot Structural Analysis or Bentley's.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk applications such as AutoCAD Navisworks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be able to travel when required.
Preferred Qualifications: Licensed Professional Engineer Master of Engineering with emphasis in structures proficient with Autodesk Revit.
