Our team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Senior Backup & Data Protection Specialist. This position will play a critical part in ensuring the high availability and recoverability of our data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer the storage and backup infrastructure to ensure enterprise storage, backup, and archive services are resilient and performant.
  • Work closely with technical, business, and 3rd party teams to deliver results, including knowledge transfer and operational training for solutions with operational support teams.
  • Respond to and resolve escalations for operational support, logging and owning all assigned incidents, problems, and requests relating to storage, backup, archive, and managing them through to restoration or resolution in accordance with the service level agreements to meet business needs.
  • Prioritise and clearly account for work, ensuring time recording for BAU and project activities are accurately recorded.
  • Maintain the storage estate, highlighting operational requirements to refresh or replace technology to Storage Team Lead or Engineering in a proactive and timely manner.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise backup systems such as Rubrik and NetBackup, with hands-on experience, a minimum 3 years, in Operations and Support on Backup applications.
  • Configuration of SLA domain in Rubrik, working along with a team and guiding them to resolving issues.
  • Able to take a lead role with customer and internal teams to resolve problems, maintain manage backup operations, and when necessary, return systems to operational status.
  • Analyse daily backup failures, identify root cause, and resolve issues systematically to bring Backup success rate close to 100%.
  • Proactive measures to ensure adequate storage capacity is available.

Job Requirements:

  1. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of enterprise backup systems and a proven track record of delivering results in similar roles.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical, business, and 3rd party teams.
  3. Experience working with Rubrik and NetBackup is essential.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  5. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
