We are seeking a seasoned data professional to design, build and manage large-scale data systems. In this role, you will utilize advanced SQL skills, hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, and proficiency in cloud-based infrastructure to develop scalable data warehouses and data lakes.

The ideal candidate has expertise in SQL engineering, cloud data architectures, and modern data pipelines. Experience with hosted data warehouse platforms such as DBT, Snowflake, or Databricks is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a high-performance PostgreSQL-based data warehouse for analytics and reporting purposes.
  • Develop and maintain complex data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage using Python or open-source frameworks.
  • Architect and maintain a secure and efficient data lake on AWS infrastructure (e.g., S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift Spectrum).
  • Optimize database performance, indexing, and schema design to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Ensure all solutions adhere to modern data engineering best practices.
Collaboration and Delivery
  • Collaborate closely with product, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions.
  • Translate business and analytics requirements into scalable data models and pipelines.
  • Provide technical guidance to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Data Quality and Governance
  • Implement robust data quality checks, lineage tracking, and metadata management.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-standard data security and governance regulations.
Future-Readiness
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering.
  • Provide expert advice on evaluating and integrating DBT, Snowflake, or Databricks as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or data platform development.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL: advanced SQL, query optimization, schema design, and data modeling.
  • Strong experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using Python or open-source frameworks.
  • Proficiency with AWS services (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift Spectrum, Lambda, etc.).
  • Experience managing structured and unstructured data at scale.
  • Solid programming skills in Python (or similar).
  • Familiarity with open-source data frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka).
