Workday Functional Consultant Job Description

This role is a critical member of our delivery team, responsible for leading and delivering complex Workday solutions across client implementations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and functional background in Workday, with expertise in Absence/Time Tracking/Benefits/HCM/Compensation/Recruiting/Talent and Performance/Payroll configurations.

A key responsibility of the consultant will be to work closely with clients to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement Workday functionality.

  • Requirements Gathering: Investigate business and technical requirements for clients' Absence or Time Tracking needs.
  • Designing Solutions: Design Workday solutions to meet client needs.
  • Solution Verification: Conduct sessions with client personnel to verify required aspects of the concerned Module.
  • Configuration: Configure Workday based on filled Workbook.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Performing self-reviews and smoke testing of work delivered.
  • Application Testing: Assisting clients with testing of concerned Functional Module.
  • Production Support: Including practices and disciplines of supporting Workday solution post deployment.

Key qualifications include excellent technical and functional skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to learn quickly through individual research and self-training. Experience with Workday Project Lifecycle and knowledge of Workday object model and solution design approach are essential.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required, along with at least 5 years of experience in Workday and overall 12 years of experience. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are necessary for this role.
