Mortgage Origination Leader

Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead our mortgage origination efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of managing day-to-day operations, including staff supervision, training, and performance reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct management of junior-level staff, overseeing their development, attendance, training, hiring, recruiting, and performance reviews.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, with expertise in TRID guidelines and other federal, state, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and lenders to ensure successful closings and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Elevate service levels by assisting in the application process, overseeing all mortgage loan closings, and completing post-closing requirements efficiently.
  • Ensure quality control of residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to lender underwriting guidelines and federal and state regulations.
  • Develop coaching and training programs to enhance staff skills and performance.
  • Analyze quality assurance data to inform lender decision-making and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Identify gaps in processes and procedures and document improvements to optimize efficiency.
  • Design reporting suites to facilitate clear communication of performance metrics to team members, peers, management, and leadership.
  • Monitor and oversee loan production pipelines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure departmental KPIs are met and develop action plans or correction actions when individual metrics are not met.
  • Communicate key initiatives, deliverables, and expectations across team members, peers, managers, and leadership.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including timecards, schedules, vacations, and performance reviews.
  • Continuously review processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in Mortgage Origination (Post-Closing Review, PQA, etc.) and Correspondent Experience (End-to-End Value Chain) in US Home Loan products.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, with expertise in TRID guidelines.
  • Management experience in human resources or operations management is required.
  • Exceptional communication, supervision, organization, and math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment skills essential for making informed decisions within established policies and procedures.
