Job Title:
Lease Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Lease Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of lease accounting transactions, maintaining proper documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Shared service / centralized lease accounting close and reporting process, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls and company policy and procedures for the accurate and timely payment / billing of leases.
  2. Support end-to-end lease accounting process by maintaining proper accounting and documentation of all activity in accordance with U.S. GAAP and in compliance with internal and external audits.
  3. Perform analysis of legal documents and determine lease classification in accordance with U.S. GAAP ASC 842.
  4. Review lease classification testing in accordance with U.S. GAAP ASC 842.
  5. Collaborate with senior staff on a regular basis.
  6. Complete month-end close processes including subledger work in CoStar, general ledger entries, and internal and external financial reporting deliverables, including reconciliations, roll forwards, footnotes, and controls.
  7. Cross-functional departments to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of lease transactions.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in accounting required.
  • Chartered Accountant preferred.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of public accounting or large multinational company accounting experience (property accounting preferred).
  • Experience with general ledger accounting systems (Oracle Cloud preferred).
  • Proficient understanding of U.S. GAAP-based financial accounting (ASC 842, Lease Accounting, experience preferred).
