Senior SQL Database Administrator PositionJob Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability and performance of our SQL Server databases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL Server databases from version SQL 2005 to SQL 2022.
  • Perform patching hierarchy and ensure clarity on SQL build numbers and internal database build numbers.
  • Upgrade or migrate SQL Server from older versions (SQL 2005) to newer versions (SQL 2022).
  • Configure linked servers between same or different SQL Server versions.
  • Set up contained databases and utilize them for effective migrations.
  • Design and implement recovery models and backup strategies.
  • Fine-tune backups using backup encryption, compression, and special parameters (MAXTRANSFERSIZE, BUFFERCOUNT, BLOCKSIZE, & CHECKSUM).
  • Handle master, model, MSDB, TEMPDB, and resource database corruptions.
  • Configure high availability and disaster recovery solutions like log shipping, mirroring, clustering, Always-On AG, and replication.
  • Gain hands-on knowledge of Windows Cluster, Quorum, Dynamic Quorum, Voting Mechanism, Failovers through Cluster Administrator, and commands.
Mandatory Skills
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server architecture, parameters, T-SQL, triggers, and procedures.
  • Administration and configuration of HA/DR solutions, including clustering and Always-On Groups.
  • Configuration and management of all types of replication and troubleshooting.
  • Patch management and deployment.
  • Advanced Always-On AG scenarios, including failover and server capacity monitoring.
  • Automation using scripts and tools for backup, monitoring, resource utilization, HA alerts, capacity plan management, and SQL Server tuning.
