Lead Data Innovator

Are you an expert in designing scalable data pipelines that fuel real-time insights? We're seeking a Lead Data Innovator to join our team and play a key role in building the backbone of our analytics infrastructure.

This is a unique opportunity for you to turn raw data points into actionable intelligence, propel machine learning models and AI-driven decisions that redefine how we operate. You'll be responsible for engineering the systems that feed our NOVA analytics dashboards for both office colleagues and clients, ensuring our PARIS platform stays ahead in a data-driven industry.

You'll be focused on:

  • Building and optimizing data systems with a balance of pipelines and infrastructure
  • Creating and maintaining cloud-based data lakes, warehouses, and ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, process, and deliver data from 630+ ships and external sources
  • Monitoring cloud infrastructure performance, resolving bottlenecks, and ensuring scalability/reliability for 24/7 maritime operations
  • Implementing data quality checks, encryption, and compliance standards (GDPR, SOC2) to protect sensitive maritime telemetry and operational data

You'll work closely with onshore and offshore developers, IT Operations, and stakeholders across departments to deliver solutions that balance technical rigor with real-world usability. Key Qualifications and Skills
  • 3+ years' experience in a Data Engineering role using SQL, PySpark, and AirFlow
  • Strong understanding of Data Lake and Data Warehouse design best practices and principles
  • Practical hands-on experience in cloud-based data services for ETL/ELT covering AWS EC2, S3 Storage, and EMR
  • Ability to manage and enhance infrastructure related to environments covering Spark, Hive, Presto
  • Experience with databases such as Postgres, MySQL, Oracle
