We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Manager to lead our taxation team at Excitel Broadband. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing our direct and indirect tax functions.

About the Role

As a Strategic Taxation Leader, you will develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws. You will also analyze and interpret various direct and indirect tax laws to provide strategic insights and ensure tax efficiency in business decisions.

You will act as an internal consultant, providing guidance to departments on tax-related queries and implications of transactions. Additionally, you will engage with tax authorities, handle queries, assessments, and audits, and draft and submit timely, well-prepared responses to notices and inquiries from tax authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Planning and Strategy
  • Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Analyze and interpret various direct and indirect tax laws (e.g., corporate tax, GST) to provide strategic insights and ensure tax efficiency in business decisions.
  • Tax Law Advisory
  • Keep the organization informed about the implications of current and upcoming direct and indirect tax laws on business processes and decisions.
  • Act as an internal consultant, providing guidance to departments on tax-related queries and implications of transactions.
  • Engagement with Tax Authorities
  • Act as the primary liaison between the organization and tax authorities for all assessments, audits, and inquiries.
  • Handle queries, assessments, and audits initiated by tax authorities to ensure accurate representation of the organization.
  • Draft and submit timely, well-prepared responses to notices and inquiries from tax authorities, minimizing potential risks and penalties.

Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of tax returns, managing assessments and appeals related to tax filings, and coordinating and overseeing tax audits. Your strong organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to work effectively with external advisors, such as tax consultants, legal advisors, and auditors.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant + LLB with 5-6 years post-qualification experience in handling litigations or Semi-Qualified CA with 9-10 years experience, preferably in the internet or technology industry + Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
