Cloud Data Engineer Position

As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable data processing systems on the Google Cloud Platform. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for analytics and machine learning initiatives.

You will focus on developing efficient data pipelines using tools like Cloud Dataflow and Apache Beam. Additionally, you will implement real-time data streaming solutions using Cloud Pub/Sub or Apache Kafka, manage storage solutions such as BigQuery and Cloud Storage, and design effective data models and schemas for structured and unstructured data.

The role also requires integrating data from multiple sources into unified data lakes or warehouses, cleansing, enriching, and transforming raw data into analytics-ready formats, monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines, optimizing workflows for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency, and implementing data governance policies and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and optionally Java or Scala.
  • Experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Storage, etc.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with real-time data processing and streaming architectures.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • GCP Professional Data Engineer certification (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in cloud environments.
