Job Title: Front End Software Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated front-end software developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality software solutions using various web technologies, including HTML5/CSS3, native JavaScript or AngularJS or Angular or ReactJS and other web server technologies.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. If you have a solid understanding of software development and quality assurance best practices, this could be the ideal position for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing high-quality software that meets requirements and promotes re-use of software components.
  • Diagnosing, isolating, and implementing remedies for system failures caused by errors in software code.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements in engineering practices.
  • Utilizing software-based system maintenance and tracking tools.
  • Providing input and technical content for technical documentation, user help materials, and customer training.
  • Conducting unit tests, tracking problems, and implementing changes to ensure adherence to test plans and functional/non-functional requirements.
  • Implementing software mechanisms to improve code stability, performance, and reusability.
  • Participating and leading code review sessions.
  • Creating high-fidelity estimates of work efforts.
  • Applying good debugging and troubleshooting techniques to understand and resolve defects found in software.
  • Creating high-quality documentation as required, like functional specifications; component test specification, and integration test specifications.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Strong web development skills using HTML5/CSS3, native JavaScript or AngularJS or Angular or ReactJS and other web server technologies.
  • Strong understanding of software development and quality assurance best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting techniques and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand business and technical requirements.
  • Ability to document requirements in the form of word documents and/or UML diagrams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with designer specialty retail and food & drug POS solutions (payments, eWIC, loyalty, promotions, etc.).
  • Experience with POS and self-checkout integrations.
  • Experience with cloud development.
  • Experience working on one of the cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google) added advantage.
