Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and monitor HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups to ensure business continuity and data resilience.
  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Maintain high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications.
  • Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
  • Experience with database security principles and implementation.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, Network and Security.
  • Support the lifecycle management of business critical applications.
  • Support the development and production environments of business critical applications.

Working Conditions:

The ideal candidate will be working as a lead administrator and will be responsible for all Azure and on-prem MS-SQL Database and Cloud Admin activities.
