Market Risk Specialist

The role of Market Risk Specialist is designed to ensure the bank's Treasury/Investment/ALM/Liquidity risk exposure is effectively managed within regulatory guidelines. As part of our Enterprise Risk Management practice, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling market risks associated with various financial instruments.

About This Opportunity:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Market Risk Specialist to join our team in the GCC region.

This is an onsite opportunity that requires 6-8 years of relevant work experience in Middle East banks. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in risk management, including experience in managing specialized risk functions within the bank.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement policies and procedures for enhanced monitoring of Treasury/Investment/ALM/Liquidity risk.
  2. Analyze and value Treasury portfolios, including Forex, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Equity, and others.
  3. Provide independent mid-office monitoring support on NOP, Fixed income, FIG, Derivatives, limit monitoring, etc.
  4. Monitor hedge effectiveness on a periodic basis.
  5. Calculate Capital charge and Counterparty Risk Charge.
  6. Perform technical analysis of Equities, Bonds, and Money market funds.
  7. Conduct all types of limit monitoring with respect to treasury activities as prescribed in internal and regulatory policies.
  8. Reconcile MTM with counterparty banks for derivatives deals undertaken and make/respond to margin calls in terms of CSA arrangements.
  9. Prepare Regulatory and internal daily and periodical reports and Board notes on accurate and timely submission.
  10. Enhance methodologies for counterpart credit risk measures like PFE and CVA.
  11. Periodically review banks' new products related to Market risk and provide risk mitigation controls.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 6-8 years of relevant work experience in Middle East banks.
  • Strong background in risk management, including experience in managing specialized risk functions within the bank.
  • Familiarity with ICAAP, RAROC, FTP methodologies, RAS will be preferable.
