Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced database professional to join our team as a senior PostgreSQL DBA and database developer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, development, and related roles with 8-10 years of experience.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration:
  • • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PostgreSQL database systems.
  • • Monitor database performance, conduct performance tuning, and optimize SQL queries for efficiency.
  • • Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and backup and recovery strategies.
  • • Troubleshoot database issues, diagnose and resolve database-related problems, and ensure system reliability and uptime.
  • • Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • • Implement database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions for disaster recovery and failover.
  • Database Development:
  • • Develop and maintain database scripts, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other database objects to support application development and data processing requirements.
  • • Design and implement data models, database schemas, and indexing strategies to optimize database performance and support application functionality.
  • • Perform data conversion and migration tasks, including data cleansing, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • • Collaborate with software developers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand database requirements and provide database solutions that meet business needs.
  • • Conduct code reviews, performance analysis, and database optimization to ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
  • • Document database designs, processes, and procedures, and provide training and knowledge transfer to junior team members.
