Job Description

Risk analysts play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of organizations by identifying emerging trends and making informed decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring Loan Performance: Identifying early warning signals and risk trends in loan portfolios to ensure timely interventions.
  • Financial Data Reconciliation: Conducting detailed reconciliation of financial data and cash flows to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Profitability Analysis: Performing profitability analysis across products and customer segments to inform business strategies.
  • Risk Scenarios and Stress Tests: Developing and running risk scenarios and stress tests to assess portfolio resilience and identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Pricing Model Development: Creating and refining pricing models for existing and new financial products to optimize profitability and sustainability.
  • Internal Audits and Portfolio Reviews: Supporting internal audits and portfolio reviews with robust risk insights to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Portfolio Behaviour Forecasting: Forecasting portfolio behaviour using historical data and predictive analytics to inform investment decisions.
  • Collaborative Financial Offering Design: Collaborating with product and credit teams to design innovative financial offerings that meet customer needs and market demands.
  • High-Quality Presentations: Preparing high-quality presentations and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders to effectively communicate risk insights and business strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed as a risk analyst, you should have:

  • Advanced Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: 2-5 years of experience in risk management, portfolio analytics, or financial modelling.
  • Desirable Experience: Prior experience in portfolio audits or credit risk management is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills (including macros, pivot tables, and financial modelling) and familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), SQL Queries, or programming (e.g., Python, R).
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets, excellent communication and presentation skills, detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
