Lead Data Scientist Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Data Science leader to spearhead our AI/ML strategy and drive innovation across the organization.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, with experience in building and deploying scalable models that deliver business impact.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to operationalize ML models, ensuring seamless integration and measurable results.

This role requires a proven ability to collaborate effectively, communicate complex concepts, and lead high-performing teams.

About the Role:

  1. Architect and deploy end-to-end ML pipelines leveraging state-of-the-art deep learning techniques.
  2. Design scalable, maintainable AI/ML platforms that deliver robustness, reliability, and alignment with enterprise objectives.
  3. Partner with cross-functional teams to operationalize ML models and ensure seamless integration.
  4. Provide ML thought leadership and lead high-performing teams, enforcing best practices from experimentation through production deployment.
  5. Shape AI strategy and guide data-driven decision-making, influencing product innovation and operational excellence.

About You:

You will be working across all aspects of machine learning, from predictive models to recommender systems, and computer vision. This role requires a strong background in data wrangling, feature engineering, and MLOps, combined with proven ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams and communicate complex concepts effectively.

The ideal candidate has a graduate/post-graduate degree from Tier-I institutes (IITs, IIITs, NITs) with 5–8 years of applied experience in AI/ML, spanning NLP, deep learning, computer vision, image processing, and with introductory experience in building or fine-tuning generative AI models.

A passion for solving complex problems with the courage to take research risks and drive innovation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong background in machine learning with experience in building and deploying scalable models.
  • Experience in data wrangling, feature engineering, and MLOps.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively, communicate complex concepts, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Graduate/post-graduate degree from Tier-I institutes (IITs, IIITs, NITs).
  • 5–8 years of applied experience in AI/ML, spanning NLP, deep learning, computer vision, image processing.
