Video Content Creator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Video Content Creator to join our content team. This role involves creating high-quality video content for social media, including editing, trimming, and assembling footage, as well as producing eye-catching thumbnails.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of video editing principles, including cutting, pacing, visual storytelling, and audio synchronization. Experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, After Effects, etc.) is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Edit and produce high-quality video content for social media.
  2. Trim, cut, and arrange footage, ensuring fluid transitions, high-quality sound effects, and appropriate background music.
  3. Perform color grading and correction, ensuring all content aligns with our brand's visual style.
  4. Add text overlays, captions, and subtitles to make content accessible and engaging.
  5. Design compelling thumbnails that encourage viewers to click and engage with the video content.
  6. Collaborate closely with the editorial and production teams to maintain the quality and consistency of all video content.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in news, cinema, video editing techniques, and YouTube best practices.
  8. Operate and handle cameras during shoots, ensuring proper framing, lighting, and audio capture for high-quality raw footage.
  9. Ensure all video content is optimized for YouTube, focusing on creating engaging and shareable videos.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in video editing, particularly for YouTube or news/entertainment content.
  • Strong understanding of video editing principles, including cutting, pacing, visual storytelling, and audio synchronization.
  • Expertise in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, After Effects, etc.).
  • Proven creativity in storytelling and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Hands-on experience with camera equipment and on-set video production, including understanding lighting, composition, and audio recording.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively understand and execute creative briefs.
  • Fluency in Malayalam (spoken and written) is mandatory.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with motion graphics and animation.
  • Knowledge of SEO for YouTube and best practices for video optimization.
  • Familiarity with trends in digital content strategy and video engagement.
  • Previous experience in film or entertainment journalism.
