Cloud Data Platform Architect

About this role:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Platform Architect to design and implement a cutting-edge data platform that will revolutionize how our organization leverages data.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers and scientists to create a unified, modern data ecosystem that eliminates silos between data engineering, business analytics, and machine learning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing production-grade cloud-based data platforms, with expertise in Kubernetes, containerization, and infrastructure as code.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a scalable and secure data platform using cloud-native technologies such as AWS or GCP.
  • Develop and maintain a suite of open-source data services including Apache Spark, Trino, MinIO, and Apache Airflow.
  • Implement and manage secure and high-performance cluster networking (using a CNI like Calico or Cilium) and contribute to the platform's security posture through RBAC, network policies, and secrets management.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and scientists to understand their needs, troubleshoot issues, and provide a stable and efficient platform that accelerates their work.
  • Required Skills:
  • Strong experience with cloud-native technologies such as AWS or GCP.
  • Proficiency with container technologies (Docker, containerd).
  • Experience writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing production-grade Kubernetes clusters.
  • Senior-Level Qualifications:
  • Proven experience designing and architecting complex data pipelines and workflows.
  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems concepts, including networking and storage fundamentals within a Kubernetes context.
  • Ability to mentor other engineers and lead technical decision-making for the team.
