Medical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coding Professional to join our team. As a Medical Coding Professional, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of medical coding practices within our organization.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Reviewing patient charts and documents to assign accurate codes for medical procedures and diagnoses;
- Complying with medical coding guidelines, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance with government and insurance requirements;
- Maintaining accurate records and reports to support data-driven decision-making;
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to clarify any discrepancies or concerns;
- Staying up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve coding efficiency and accuracy;
- Implementing quality control measures to identify and address any coding errors or inconsistencies;

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Medical Coder;
- Medical coding certification (CPC) or equivalent;
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., health information management, healthcare administration);
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record systems;
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology;
- Experience with ICD-X codes and CPT procedures.
