Estimated Salary: ₹1,200,000 - ₹1,800,000 per annum

Job Description:

As an Android BSP Engineer at Neudeep Technologies Pvt. Ltd., you will play a crucial role in developing and integrating board support packages (BSPs) for custom hardware platforms running Android. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Board Support Package (BSP) for Android-based hardware platforms.
  • Integrate and customize the Linux kernel and device drivers for various peripherals (e.g., sensors, cameras, touchscreens, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth).
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to optimize system performance and power management.
  • Customize Android's Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) to enable communication between Android apps and peripherals.
  • Debug and resolve hardware and software integration issues, utilizing tools like Android Debug Bridge (ADB) and other diagnostic methods.
  • Perform system bring-up, hardware testing, and validation for new Android devices.
  • Provide technical support for product development and production phases.
  • Stay updated on Android and Linux kernel advancements, contributing to improving the BSP and associated drivers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Key Requirements:

  • Strong experience in embedded Linux and Android development, particularly with BSPs.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Java (for HAL modifications).
  • Solid understanding of Linux kernel internals, device drivers, and bootloaders.
  • Familiarity with hardware communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Android system bring-up and debugging tools like ADB and Logcat.
  • Experience with peripheral integration (e.g., display, touch, sensors, Wi-Fi, audio, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ARM architecture and SoC (System on Chip) designs.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not mandatory, previous experience working with custom hardware platforms, familiarity with Android's Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and Vendor Interface (VINTF), and knowledge of power management and performance optimization in embedded systems would be beneficial.

Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is essential.
