Job Title: Compliance Project Manager

Are you a seasoned project manager looking for a challenging role that combines your skills in compliance and data protection? We are seeking an experienced Compliance Project Manager to lead the implementation of our Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) compliance framework across all business units.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing regulatory or compliance-driven projects, preferably in the financial services sector. They should have a strong understanding of data privacy regulations, including PIPA, GDPR, and other relevant laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of the PIPA compliance framework, ensuring alignment with Bermuda equivalent data protection regulations.
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current data privacy policies, systems, and processes to identify gaps against PIPA requirements.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, IT Security, Compliance, and Business Units to define and implement appropriate controls for data collection, storage, access, and sharing.
  • Oversee the development of data mapping and inventory to identify all personal data processed by the organization.
  • Establish governance structures, reporting mechanisms, and escalation paths to ensure compliance tracking and accountability.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party assessments related to data processing and privacy.
  • Design and facilitate training and awareness programs for staff on data protection principles and responsibilities under PIPA.
  • Prepare project plans, status reports, risk registers, and ensure timely delivery within scope.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies regarding PIPA-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing regulatory or compliance-driven projects, preferably in the financial services sector.
  • In-depth understanding of data privacy regulations (PIPA, GDPR, or similar).
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into actionable business processes.
  • Experience with change management and business process re-engineering is an advantage.
