Key to success in this role is expertise in public key infrastructure (PKI) design, implementation, and automation.

We are seeking a seasoned Level 3 PKI Certificate Management specialist who can lead the development of enterprise-grade PKI environments that ensure security, scalability, and compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Architecture: Design and deploy secure, scalable PKI infrastructure, including Root and Subordinate CAs, CRLs, OCSP responders, and HSMs.
  • Certificate Policies: Define certificate policies, trust models, and key usage standards to ensure organizational security strategy alignment.
  • PKI Upgrades: Lead PKI upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery initiatives to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Certificate Lifecycle Management: Manage the full lifecycle of digital certificates: issuance, renewal, revocation, and expiration.
  • Certificate Automation: Implement and maintain certificate management automation tools, such as Venafi, AppViewX, and Keyfactor.
  • Certificate Integration: Integrate certificate management with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Certificate Monitoring: Monitor certificate health and compliance using automated dashboards and alerting systems.
  • Security Audits: Ensure PKI systems adhere to internal security policies and external standards, such as NIST and ISO 27001.
  • Vulnerability Assessments: Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments of PKI infrastructure to identify potential risks.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for PKI architecture, processes, and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting: Serve as the highest level of escalation for PKI-related incidents and provide technical guidance to support teams.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members and contribute to their professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in PKI and certificate management.
  • Proficiency with automation tools like Venafi, AppViewX, DigiCert, or Keyfactor.
  • Strong understanding of cryptographic protocols, including TLS/SSL, S/MIME, and Code Signing.
  • Experience with cloud-native PKI solutions and integrations.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer, are a plus.
