Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed review and analysis of complex Private Equity, Hedge Fund and/or FoF partnership tax returns, ensuring compliance with firm policies and professional standards.
  • Develop and mentor junior team members, providing honest and timely performance feedback to drive career growth.
  • Communicate complex issues in a non-technical manner, facilitating seamless collaboration between clients and service teams.
  • Serve as the Tax client service coordinator, ensuring excellent client satisfaction and retention.
  • Advise clients on a full spectrum of RSM's tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions activities.
  • Review research findings, ensuring consistency with firm policies and professional standards.
  • Contribute to new business development, extended services, and tax issue recognition for existing clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engagement teams across the tax practice to manage client needs.
  • Stay up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in business taxation, preferably with a Big 4 or a large national, regional, or local accounting firm.
  • Active CPA, CA, EA, or JD/LLM certification.
  • Prior tax compliance and consulting experience serving Asset Management clients.
  • Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Proven track record of managing client engagements from start-to-end.
