Job Summary

As a seasoned Information Retrieval Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing cutting-edge search architectures using Apache Solr, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch. With a strong proficiency in Python for scripting, data manipulation, and ML prototyping, you will develop and maintain services for data ingestion, processing, orchestration, and ML integration.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Search Architecture Design: Implement efficient search systems that leverage the strengths of various search engines.
  • Data Ingestion and Processing: Develop and maintain Python-based services for data ingestion, processing, and orchestration.
  • Search Relevance Optimization: Employ advanced techniques like tokenization, analyzers, stemming, boosting, and custom scoring to improve search relevance.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Deployment: Deploy and manage cloud-based infrastructure on AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, IAM) for scalable search applications.
  • API Development and Maintenance: Build and maintain robust, testable APIs that expose search functionalities to frontend and backend systems.
  • CICD Pipeline Implementation: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing (unit, integration, performance) to ensure code quality.

You will require 4+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Solr, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch. Strong proficiency in Python is also essential, as well as proven experience deploying workloads on AWS, including services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, and IAM. A deep understanding of search relevance concepts, including tokenization, stemming, analyzers, boosting, and query/index-time optimization strategies, is also required. Additionally, solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and writing automated tests (unit, integration, performance) is expected.

Exposure to LLM fine-tuning or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks is a plus, as is experience working with search datasets in the construction or AEC industry. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Pulumi is also beneficial, as is an understanding of container security best practices and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
