Mainframe z/VM Technical Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe z/VM Technical Lead to join our team at INES EIT Services India P. Ltd [Formerly Hewlett Packard Global Soft India P]. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining z/VM mainframe platforms, with a strong focus on security, performance, and virtualization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement z/VM mainframe platforms, including configuration, installation, and upgrade of operating systems, software, and hardware.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for z/VM mainframe platforms, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of z/VM mainframe platforms with other systems and applications.
  • Provide expert-level support for z/VM mainframe platforms, including troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest z/VM mainframe technologies, including security patches, software updates, and hardware advancements.
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of z/VM mainframe platforms.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical training programs for z/VM mainframe platforms, including hands-on training and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure the successful implementation of z/VM mainframe platforms.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining z/VM mainframe platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of z/VM mainframe operating systems, including configuration, installation, and upgrade.
  • Expert-level skills in z/VM mainframe security, including RACF, encryption, and disaster recovery.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, including z/VM mainframe virtualization.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support z/VM mainframe platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with z/VM mainframe virtualization, including z/VM guests and hypervisors.
  • Knowledge of z/VM mainframe storage management tools and techniques, including NetBackup, DFHSM, ADRDSSU, SMS, and virtual tape systems.
  • Experience with z/VM mainframe security products, including VMSecure and RACF for VM.
  • Knowledge of z/VM mainframe job processing, including dispatching priorities and security products.
  • Experience with z/VM mainframe communications products, including VTAM and TCP/IP.
