Key Economist Role

We are seeking an experienced economist to support our Cross Asset Strategy team in day-to-day research. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of macroeconomic concepts, proficiency in excel, and working knowledge of statistical software, econometric modelling, and basic report writing skills.

The role involves creating and updating excel-based databases on a regular basis, gathering data from public sources, analysing large datasets to identify patterns and trends, and building end-to-end econometric models using time series methods in Python/Matlab/Eviews.

The successful candidate will also be required to monitor and provide support for existing automation projects, review current projects for opportunities that drive improvement in the process, assist in preparation and publication of weekly, monthly and quarterly deliverables, and keep abreast with important macro-economic news/FX and rates market developments which impact emerging markets.

A master's degree in economics from a reputed institute is essential, with 1-3 years of experience in a similar role. Working experience of Bloomberg and Haver is preferred.
