SQL Database Administrator

Job Description:

The role of a SQL Database Administrator involves installation, upgradation, and migration of SQL servers. This includes applying patches or service packs for SQL Server, configuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and setting up automated alerts to notify the team of any issues.

Key responsibilities include troubleshooting locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts, and fixing them. Additionally, the candidate should have hands-on experience in Always On and DB Mirroring, execute all changes of db schema, and maintain a controlled development database environment.

Close collaboration with application developers is required to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands. The candidate should be able to handle database object deployment to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production, provide day-to-day support of high OLTP HA of SQL Server databases, and work on performance tuning like creating missing indexes.

Other key skills include willingness to work in 24X7 projects, experience in scripting using perl, power shell, and experience in AWS/Azure. Added advantages include any of the following certifications: SQL Server certifications and SQL Cloud based solutions and experience.
