Motion Graphics Designer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Motion Graphics Designer to join our creative team. This role will focus on developing dynamic graphics for horse racing coverage, ensuring seamless integration of live data, storytelling, and engaging visual presentation.

  • Design custom motion graphics for horse racing broadcasts, including show opens, transitions, and bumpers
  • Create on-screen statistics, odds, and race data visualizations
  • Develop lower thirds, title cards, and branded broadcast elements
  • Collaborate with producers, editors, and sports analysts to translate racing data and narratives into compelling visuals
  • Design graphics templates for fast turnaround and live updates during race events
  • E nsure compliance with brand guidelines and network broadcast standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot graphics in live broadcast environments and support technical integration with real-time graphics systems
  • Maintain a library of reusable templates, assets, and branded elements
  • Stay current with industry trends, motion design tools, and sports coverage formats

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in motion graphics design, preferably within sports broadcasting
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
  • Experience with real-time broadcast graphics platforms is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of sports design aesthetics, particularly horse racing data (odds, timings, jockey statistics, race cards)
  • Solid grasp of typography, color theory, pacing, and motion design principles
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with rapid turnaround
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills
  • A portfolio or demo reel showcasing high-quality motion graphics work, ideally in live or sports television

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Motion Design, Broadcast Design, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Experience working on-site at sports events or in live production environments
  • Interest in or working knowledge of horse racing formats, terminology, and statistics
