Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and innovative mechanical design engineer to lead our R&D initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and technical design skills, with a proven track record in 3D modeling, mechanical system design, prototyping, and design for manufacturability (DFM). A deep understanding of materials, tolerance analysis, IP-rated enclosure design, and mechanical assembly processes is essential.

Key responsibilities include designing and developing complex mechanical components and assemblies, creating precise 3D CAD models and detailed technical drawings, leading prototyping efforts, selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, performing tolerance analysis, stress analysis, and thermal analysis, collaborating closely with electronics and software engineering teams, overseeing testing and validation of mechanical components and systems, and preparing comprehensive documentation for manufacturing, assembly, and quality assurance processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Required skills and qualifications include proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting using tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Autodesk Inventor, strong expertise in mechanical enclosure design, hands-on experience with prototyping techniques, in-depth understanding of material selection, tolerance stack-up analysis, and mechanical design calculations, knowledge of DFM and DFA principles, familiarity with GD&T, technical drawing standards, and compliance with industry norms, experience in preparing BOMs, assembly drawings, and detailed documentation, and proficiency in MS Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and communication across engineering functions.
