Job Description

Our team is looking for an Optimization Specialist to join our ranks. In this role, you will be responsible for formulating and solving various optimization problems using advanced heuristic and metaheuristic methods.

You will work closely with stakeholders to translate business challenges into quantitative models and offer innovative solutions that leverage optimization techniques. This includes designing and implementing robust optimization algorithms, evaluating and selecting appropriate solvers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and architectural designs.

As an Optimization Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of optimization theories and methods, including LP, MILP, combinatorial optimization, scheduling, and especially heuristic and metaheuristic algorithms. You will also have the chance to collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and architectural designs.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled Optimization Specialist with a deep understanding of a wide range of optimization theories and methods. You should have a strong background in operations research, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a related field. Experience with non-commercial and commercial optimization solvers is essential, as well as proficiency in tools such as Python with PuLP or Pyomo, MATLAB.

Desirable Skills:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Operations Research.
  • Deep understanding of a wide range of optimization theories and methods.
  • Proficient in optimization modeling languages and tools.
  • Experience with both non-commercial and commercial optimization solvers.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, creativity in approach, and a track record of innovative solutions in optimization.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
