Lead Economist

Job Title: Lead Economist - India Market Expert

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in research and analytics, particularly in the Indian market.

• Create and maintain econometric models to forecast future trends and risks.
• Monitor and assess global economic developments and their potential impact on markets.
• Write and publish research commentary to accompany data analysis and discuss market drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze macroeconomic data to identify economic trends and themes.
• Conduct secondary research and work on macro and market projects relevant to the Indian market.
• Perform ad hoc tasks as requested.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Economics or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as an Economic Analyst or Macro Strategist.
• Strong knowledge of global financial markets and recent developments.
• Advanced quantitative and mathematical skills with experience working with large datasets.
• Expertise in Excel, VBA, and econometrics. Knowledge of Python or R is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with database tools such as Macrobond, CEIC, and World Bank.
