
Medical Coding Training Specialist

The Medical Coding Training Manager oversees and manages the training and development of medical coders within an organization. This role involves designing and implementing training programs, ensuring compliance with coding standards and regulations, and maintaining high levels of coding accuracy and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of medical coding trainers.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship.
- Develop career development plans for coding staff to foster growth and advancement within the organization.
- Design and develop comprehensive training programs for new medical coding specialties.
At least a Bachelor's degree in clinical sciences or a related field is required. Additionally, Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification is necessary.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in medical coding, with at least 5 years in a training or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and other relevant coding systems.
Strong leadership and team management skills are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as proficiency in using medical coding software and e-learning platforms, are also necessary.
The ideal candidate should be able to analyze data and generate actionable insights, making informed decisions to drive business growth.
