US Tax Manager Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of US Tax Manager. This position will involve overseeing the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1041.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising tax staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure the highest level of technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and Review Tax Returns: Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns, ensuring compliance with IRS and state tax regulations.
  • Manage Tax Staff: Manage and supervise tax staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure the highest level of technical expertise.
  • Develop Tax Planning Strategies: Develop and lead tax planning strategies for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and estates, leveraging strong knowledge of US tax law and regulations.
  • Research Complex Tax Issues: Research complex tax issues and provide innovative solutions to clients, ensuring compliance with IRS and state tax regulations.
  • Maintain Client Relationships: Maintain strong professional relationships with clients through direct communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in US taxation, with a strong focus on technical expertise in federal and state tax returns.
  • Prior experience managing and mentoring teams, with a proven track record of success.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, as well as a CPA or EA certification.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and client management skills, with proficiency in US tax software such as CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or equivalent.
