Job Title: Assistant Manager - Product Buying/MerchandisingJob Summary:

We are seeking a results-driven Assistant Manager - Product Buying/Merchandising to support the development and execution of buying strategies for our Small Leather Goods category. This role requires expertise in market analysis, vendor management, and assortment planning to create a compelling range of leather accessories for men and women.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Development and Buying Strategies: Execute buying strategies for the Small Leather Goods category, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and consumer trends.
  2. Vendor Management and Assessment: Identify and assess factories/vendors based on product quality, reliability, cost, and delivery timelines.
  3. Product Quality and Development: Enhance product quality standards and develop new products that align with current market trends.
  4. Consumer Insights and Demand Forecasting: Analyze consumer buying behaviors, study national and international trends, and forecast demand within the Small Leather Goods category.
  5. Product Costing and Negotiation: Manage product costing, negotiate terms with suppliers, and plan MRPs to meet optimal margin targets.
  6. Logistics and Import Verification: Oversee the import verification process and coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for timely product delivery.
  7. Range Planning and Merchandising: Conduct range planning at category and sub-category levels in alignment with seasonal merchandising objectives.
  8. Price Setting and Product Range Expansion: Review technical packs and set prices for each style, working to expand the product range and optimize profitability.
  9. Alternative Sourcing and Supplier Diversity: Establish alternative sourcing strategies to minimize production costs and improve supplier diversity.
  10. Assortment Planning and Optimization: Lead assortment planning based on data analysis and strategic insights, optimizing product selection across styles.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in buying and merchandising for Small Leather Goods.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from NIFT, FDDI, or an equivalent institution.

Preferred Candidate: An Assistant Manager - Product Buying/Merchandising with a proven track record in buying and merchandising for Small Leather Goods.

Required Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills and vendor management expertise.
  • Proficient in creating business plans and category management.
  • Analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
