RF and Antenna Design Engineer

A pioneer in the field of RF hardware and antenna design, we're seeking an experienced engineer to lead our development of cutting-edge solutions for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Automatic Identification System (AIS) payloads.

Job Description:

  • Develop RF and antenna subsystems for SAR and AIS payloads with a focus on optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Design antennas for spaceborne SAR and AIS systems, considering factors such as frequency, gain, and radiation patterns.
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations to evaluate antenna performance characteristics, including beamwidth, directivity, and side-lobe levels.
  • Utilize EM simulation tools (e.g., ADS, ANSYS HFSS, TICRA) to design, analyze, and optimize antenna designs.
  • Conduct thorough antenna characterization and validation, ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop system-level RF design for SAR and AIS payloads, incorporating vendor-supplied components and ensuring seamless integration.
  • Evaluate and select vendors for RF transmit and receive components, ensuring optimal quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design RF schematics and PCB layouts, adhering to industry best practices and ensuring manufacturability and testability.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience in RF hardware and antenna design, with a strong background in RF engineering principles and antenna theory.
  • Excellent understanding of RF schematic and PCB layout best practices, with expertise in designing and developing complex RF circuits.
  • Proficiency in EM simulation tools (e.g., ADS, ANSYS HFSS, TICRA), with experience in using these tools for antenna design, analysis, and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with RF lab instruments (spectrum/network analyzers, etc.), with expertise in measuring and characterizing RF signals and antennas.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Education:

  • UG: B.Tech/B.E in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • PG: M.Sc/M.Tech in Physics or Mathematics with a focus on Antenna Design or RF Engineering.
