Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Linux-based production servers, ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and reliability.
  • Install, configure, and update Node.js and NGINX on servers, addressing any issues related to server performance, connectivity, and application deployment.
  • Write and maintain Bash scripts to automate routine tasks, backups, and deployment processes, implementing system monitoring and alerting for server health and performance metrics.
  • Ensure server security by applying patches, updates, and managing firewalls, as well as managing SSL certificates and maintaining NGINX configurations.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in Linux system administration, with a proven track record of maintaining production servers.
  • Proficiency in Linux server administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, or similar) and hands-on experience with Node.js and NGINX.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash for automation tasks and a basic understanding of networking and firewalls.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or a Diploma in a relevant discipline. Familiarity with basic database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL), version control systems (Git), and cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus. A strong analytical and problem-solving ability, good communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure are essential for this role.
