Senior Backend Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the backend infrastructure for our financial platform.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable and secure backend systems using TypeScript/Node.js.
  • Develop transactional business logic for financial flows, such as onboarding and withdrawals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with frontend and third-party APIs.
  • Maintain and improve existing systems to meet performance, reliability, and audit requirements.

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time contract role (initial 3 months, possible extension) focused on core features, transactions, and secure APIs all powering a product built for real customers and regulatory scrutiny.
  • You will have the opportunity to work on a live, regulated financial platform being built across the Middle East.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong TypeScript/Node.js skills, hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and serverless patterns, and a solid understanding of building secure, documented REST APIs.

What You'll Need:

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, schema design, performance tuning, and real-world queries.
  • Able to work independently and communicate clearly with the team.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with regulated systems, including KYC, audit logs, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with Terraform/IaC and polyglot environments.
