Job Summary:

  • This role involves working as a senior biostatistician, overseeing the work of junior staff members and providing expert consultation on statistical methodology to projects across the organization.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for solving complex statistical problems, providing technical review of proposed study designs, and serving as lead statistician on multiple research projects.
  • This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to effectively communicate complex statistical concepts both written and orally.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct the work of junior biostatisticians, associate biostatisticians, and SAS programmers on clinical research studies.
  • Provide expert consultation to projects across the organization on statistical methodology.
  • Solve complex statistical problems and provide technical review of proposed study designs.
  • Lead statistical process development and improvement across the organization.
  • Present at statistical conferences and meetings.
  • Provide strategic, scientific, and statistical input to support client's research projects.
  • Develop study analysis plans and statistical programs to perform analyses and display study data.
  • Keep abreast with current statistical and medical literature to ensure that sound methodologies are adopted.
  • Foster innovation in biostatistics and continuously enhance current statistical knowledge and practices.
  • Ensure the scientific integrity of the research project and the accuracy of the reported results.
  • Perform sample size calculation and provide leadership in the statistical design of research projects.
  • Review protocols and case report forms to ensure that protocol objectives are met and standards are maintained.
  • Develop study assignment allocation schemas along with appropriate documentation.
  • Lead the development of methods and results sections of clinical study reports and scientific publications.
  • Represent clients at regulatory meetings.
  • Participate in the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or related field.
  • At least 4 years of related experience with MS or 1 year of related experience with PhD is expected but not required.
  • Experience with methodological statistical research, including publication and/or presentation of work in statistical methods development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with statistical methods and applications in clinical research.
  • Strong programming skills in SAS and/or R.
  • Expertise in state-of-the-art data manipulation and statistical methodology.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
