Lead Medical Writer

The ideal candidate will have a strong medical and scientific writing background, with expertise in medico-marketing/marketing communications.

Experience as a people manager is necessary – managing a team of ≥4 medical content writers for US & global markets.

A deep understanding of the pharmaceutical, life-sciences, medical devices, and healthcare industry is essential, along with the ability to understand complex information and create clear engaging content.

This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality communication materials that support our clients' goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Content Development: Ability to read and understand project briefs, guide content writers and cross-functional teams on scope of work. Research, write, and edit a wide range of medical communication materials, including scientific manuscripts, marketing collateral, and educational content.
  2. Scientific Accuracy: Subject matter expert with a deeper understanding of medical science, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and scientific rigor of all content by staying up-to-date with the latest developments in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and relevant therapeutic areas.
  3. Audience Adaptation: Write/adapt/customize content to diverse target audiences, including healthcare professionals, patients, and regulatory authorities, while maintaining scientific integrity and regulatory compliance.
  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medical experts, graphic designers, digital coding experts, project managers, clients & client servicing teams, to produce cohesive effective communication materials.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to industry guidelines, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards to ensure all content meets the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope. Work closely with peers & colleagues from content writing team; review the content created by fellow team members; train, mentor, and guide new team members on content writing and ways of working.

Ensure assigning jobs to team members based on volumes, skillset, complexity, and expertise, at the same time ensuring optimal utilization of all team members. Prepare & submit required reports about team members, including but not limited to quality, timeliness, utilization, and others.

Incorporate feedback from clients and internal stakeholders to continually improve and refine content.

Must be aware of different types of submissions involved in content approval by clients/regulatory bodies/healthcare authorities preferably the US, UK, EU, middle east & Asian markets. Hands-on experience on Veeva Vault PromoMats is essential, and other submission processes is an added advantage.
