Cloud Engineer Role

As a GCP Cloud Engineer at Mkssg HR Services, you will be part of a diverse team spread across multiple geographies, working alongside Google and selected third parties on a variety of tasks. These tasks range from developing automation and streamlining operational procedures to building out cloud infrastructure with the latest public cloud services. We are seeking talented GCP Cloud Engineers to join our team as we expand our service across North and South Europe.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using native cloud tools for backup, patching, monitoring, and security compliance.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve cloud service offerings and maintain and support the cloud services platform.
  • Monitor and maintain multiple cloud solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and service health issues in line with service level agreements.
  • Participate in a Cloud Engineering team utilizing Agile methods such as Kanban for tracking work items.
  • Promote cloud native solutions and patterns for Platform and Project improvement opportunities.
  • Build and deploy infrastructure as code against solution designs in line with best practices.
  • Utilize CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps and create pipelines for build and releases of infrastructure.
  • Maintain documentation for standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in an oncall 24x7 rota.

Professional requirements :

  • Extensive experience of building and deploying solutions in GCP using infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment Manager etc.
  • Implementation of CI/CD pipelines (preferably using Azure DevOps).
  • Proven scripting or programming experience for automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Experience of monitoring and logging tools for cloud.
  • Deep knowledge of Networking, troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Deep knowledge of security best practices in cloud including identity and access management, network security, encryption and incident response.
  • Understanding of Agile principles e.g. Kanban and SCRUM.
  • Operational experience of supporting Cloud environments.
  • At least one cloud certification e.g. Associate Cloud Engineer.

Desirable qualifications :

  • Any cloud architect / developer certification (GCP).
  • Proven experience of microservices and container-based systems (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • ITIL experience.
  • SCUM/Agile certification.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization and governance.
