Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented Quality Assurance and Automation Specialist to join our team at Comcast.

About the Job:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and quality assurance, with a focus on automation testing.

Responsibilities include writing complex automated test code, building new tools for faster test automation, and serving as a guide and mentor for junior-level engineers.

You will work closely with Test Engineers and Development teams to build test script hooks that help in earlier and easier testing.

In addition, you will diagnose and repair complex bugs within production code, drive scrum meetings as Scrum Master, and perform backlog grooming and sprint planning.

This role requires strong technical leadership and consultation skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit complex, automated test code, using the same standards as a Software Engineer, that allows for repeatable, reliable testing solutions to test the wide functionality of products and software in accordance with specifications and technical requirements.
  • Build new tools to assist in faster test automation and functional testing efforts and innovate on existing automation processes.
  • Serve as a guide and mentor for junior-level engineers, providing technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques.
  • Review project progress, evaluates results, and recommends corrections in technical applications and analysis to executive teams.
  • Perform code reviews of automation scripts and front-end codebases.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience in software development and quality assurance.
  • Proven track record of success in automation testing and software development.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages, such as Java, Python, and C++.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, like Git and SVN.
