Financial Consultant Role

The role of a Financial Consultant is critical in organizational transitions. As a key player, you will lead and execute financial activities, including process mapping, configuration, data migration, compliance, and integration with external systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transition Planning & Execution:
    • Design and implement processes for company separation, including account inactivation, company code closure, and data extraction strategies.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define the scope of divestiture and ensure alignment with business and compliance requirements.
  • Finance Module Expertise:
    • Configure and support modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and multi-currency setups.
    • Handle intercompany settlements, period-end closures, and reporting requirements.
  • Data Migration & Integration:
    • Lead historical data extraction and handover to acquiring entities.
    • Ensure seamless integration with systems like SAP, Hyperion, and EBS during transitions.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Implement SOX-compliant security using tools.
    • Generate and review SOD, sensitive access, and firefighting ID reports.
  • Documentation & Training:
    • Prepare process documents, runbooks, and training materials.
    • Conduct user training and create self-help documentation to reduce support tickets.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 12–15 years of experience in financial ERP systems with a focus on finance and cross-functional modules.
  • Proven experience in at least one company separation, merger, or acquisition project.
  • Strong understanding of financial configuration, data structures, and integration points.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOX, audit readiness).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
